Waffles

Name: Waffles
Ingredients: Preheat and grease waffle iron.; 1. Sift together dry ingredients and add the sugar.; 2. Add milk gradually, mixing well after each addition.; 3. Add the beaten egg yolks and then the melted butter. Mix until well blended.; 4. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.; 5. Cook the waffles on a hot waffle iron following the manufactures instructions.; 6. Serve immediately, or freeze and reheat in the oven.

This is an easy recipe for golden, crisp waffles that I bake on an electric waffle iron. Serve with golden syrup and whipped cream or ice cream when the family deserves a treat.

375 ml (1½ cups) cake flour
10 ml (2 teaspoons) baking powder
2,5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) salt
10 ml (2 teaspoons) sugar
250 ml (1 cup) milk
2 eggs, separated
45 ml (3 tablespoons) butter or margarine, melted
