Spice Rubbed Fillet Steak with Horseradish Sauce
The spice rub is a dry marinade which gives the steak lots of flavour. It is served with a spicy sweet horseradish sauce which has a little bite of its own. Serve the steak with Golden Mashed Potatoes (see recipe index).
Method
- Make the horseradish sauce. Combine all the ingredients and mix well. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Make the spice rub. Combine all the spices in a spice grinder and process until coarsely ground. Rub the mixture over the steak. Marinate for 4 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 200 ºC (400 ºF). Place the steak onto a roasting rack and drizzle with olive oil. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes. Let the steak rest for 4 minutes and serve, cut into thick slices and serve with the horseradish sauce and golden mashed potatoes.
