Chocolate and Horliks Squares
I remember enjoying ice cream with chocolate sauce and Horlicks as the ultimate treat as a young child growing up in Pietermaritzburg. These shortbread cookies brings back lovely taste memories.
Method
- Preheat the oven to 160 ° C. Grease a 24 x34cm baking tray.
- Cream the butter and sugar together. Add the flour and Horliks and mix well.
- Press the dough into the baking tray and prick well with a fork.
- Bake in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes until cooked. Allow to cool slightly before cutting into squares.
- Melt the chocolate in a saucepan over hot water. Coat the squares with the melted chocolate and sprinkle liberally with Horliks. Eat anytime.
