Basmati Rice with Spinach
For this dish, the basmati rice should be freshly cooked. Serve with a favourite curry.
Method
- Heat oil in a large frying and stir-fry the onion with the cumin seeds for 5 minutes. Stir in the turmeric and continue to cook for 2 minutes. Add the butter, let it melt and then add the rice. Stir-fry for 2 minutes until the rice is well coated in the flavouring ingredients.
- Make a well in the rice and add the spinach. Stir-fry briefly to heat through. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Fork the spinach into the rice and serve at once.
