Banoffee Pie

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Grease a 20 cm pie dish.
  2. Make the crumb crust. Mix the crushed biscuits wit the sugar and cinnamon. Melt the butter and stir into the crumbs. Mix well. Press the crumb mixture firmly into the pie dish with the back of a spoon. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes. Set aside until cold.
  3. Make the filling. Spoon the caramelized condensed milk in a mixing bowl. Add the sliced bananas and fold carefully to combine. Melt the chocolate and cream over hot water in a double boiler and mix to a smooth sauce. Spoon the banana caramel into the pie shell. Top with the whipped cream and drizzle the chocolate sauce over the cream. Serve at once.
